This is the absolute BEST fresh peach lemonade recipe! Sweet juicy peaches combined with tart, tangy lemons make the most refreshing drink. You will want to have a pitcher of this in your fridge throughout the peach season!

Peaches are my favorite fruit, and it’s hard for me to wait until fall to get the best fresh peaches! When I do, I load up and make all the peach recipes! My favorites besides this lemonade include this homemade peach pie, my fresh peach smoothie, and my favorite peach salsa.

Side shot of mason jar with fresh peach lemonade with sprig of mint and garnished with a wedge of lemon.

Reasons You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Perfect for peach season: This simple but refreshing drink is the perfect way to use those fresh peaches during peach season. If you have canned or frozen peaches, you could make it year-round.
  • Simple: This recipe is easy to make and takes less than 20 minutes.
  • Versatile: This lemonade isn’t just for drinking! You could add it to cocktails, use it as a smoothie base, or freeze it into popsicles for a fun twist.

Fresh Peach Lemonade Recipe Ingredients

Fresh peach lemonade combines sweet peaches and tart lemons for a perfectly balanced drink that’s incredibly refreshing. Scroll to the recipe card for exact measurements.

  • Fresh Peaches: Peaches are the perfect juicy fruit for this lemonade’s base. Their sweetness balances out the lemons’ tartness.
  • Granulated Sugar: Adds sweetness and brings out the flavor of the peaches and lemons.
  • Water: Gives the lemonade the right consistency making it a refreshing beverage.
  • Fresh Lemon Juice: Fresh lemons make such a difference in the taste of this peach lemonade.
  • Ice: Cools everything down and makes it so mouthwatering and thirst-quenching!
  • Fresh Peach & Lemon Slices for Garnish: I am a sucker for a beautiful presentation! Get out some cute county fair glasses, fun straws, slice up some lemons and peaches, and toss everything together!

How to Make Peach Lemonade

Making fresh, homemade peach lemonade takes less than 20 minutes and is 100% worth it! The fresh peaches and tart lemons combine for a perfect marriage of summer sweetness.

  1. Prep: Wash the peaches and remove the pits. You can peel the skin, but I like leaving it on for this syrup. Then dice the peaches.
  2. Simmer: Add the peaches, sugar, and ½ cup of water to a saucepan and cook over medium. Cook the peaches for about 7-8 minutes, or until they are soft and syrupy and the sugar has dissolved and is bubbling.
  3. Puree: Remove the pan from the heat and very carefully pour the peach mixture into a blender or a food processor. Place the lid on and cover it with a clean kitchen towel before blending until it is smooth. You can strain out the solids if you would like by using a spoon or spatula to press the syrup through a fine mesh strainer. Cover the syrup and let it cool to room temperature, or chill it in the refrigerator until you are ready to use it.
  4. Serve: When you are ready to serve the lemonade, combine the peach syrup, lemon juice, 4 cups of cold water, and ice in a pitcher. Stir to combine. If desired, add slices of lemons and peaches for garnish.

Perfect Peach Lemonade Tips

I want this to be the best peach lemonade you’ve ever had! To do that please follow these tips and variations to have it turn out just the way you like it!

  • Quick Ripenning Hack: Ripen your peaches quicker by placing them stem-side down inside a paper bag and closing it. Check them in a day or two. The trapped ethylene gas will speed up the ripening!
  • Substitutions: You may substitute half the diced peaches for strawberries or raspberries to make peach-strawberry or raspberry syrup.
  • Sweetness Scale: If you find your lemonade a bit too sweet or your peaches are especially ripe, you might want to cut back on the sugar to just ½–¾ cup instead of the full cup. This adjustment allows you to customize the sweetness to your preference.
  • Frozen or Canned Substitutes: You may replace the fresh peaches with 10-ounces of canned or frozen peaches if you want to make this and fresh peaches are unavailable.
  • Under-Ripe Peaches: You can still use under-ripe peaches for this recipe. Cooking the peaches for the syrup will help bring out the sweetness. If the flesh won’t release from the pit, cut around the pit as well as you can before dicing it up and adding it to the saucepan.
  • Fresh Lemons: Use fresh lemons! Fresh lemons will make a world of difference in flavor for lemonade.
  • Adult Drink: Add a little rum, vodka or bourbon to make this a refreshing adult drink!
  • Flavor Variations: To give it a different flavor, you can add fresh mint, rosemary, berries, ginger, basil or vanilla.
Side shot of pitcher of lemonade with someone stirring with a wooden spoon.

Leftover Lemonade Instructions

You will love having this peach lemonade in your fridge to pull out when you are in the mood for something sweet and refreshing.

  • Make in Advance: The peach syrup can be made up to a week in advance. Keep it in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freeze in a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
  • Fridge: Once the lemonade has been mixed, it can be kept for 5 to 7 days in the refrigerator.

Customize Your Perfect Smoothie

  • Preferences: If you don’t like one of the fruits in this recipe, you may replace it with more of the other ingredients.

  • Fruit Substitutions: For variations on this smoothie, try swapping out portions of the fruit in the recipe card for other fruits. Some great additions would be strawberries, guava, dragon fruit, kiwi, passion fruit, or oranges.
  • Protein Version: For added protein, coconut milk can be substituted with plain or vanilla Greek yogurt, or you can add your favorite vanilla protein powder!
  • Nutrient add-ins: A small handful of chia seeds, flax seeds, and fresh spinach would provide a nice power boost of fiber and other nutrients for those looking for a little more in their smoothies.

This bright sherbet punch is perfect for serving on any occasion! It has just the right balance of sweetness, zest, and refreshing coolness and you won’t be able to resist having a second glass.

I am a huge fan of delicious drink concoctions. They make me feel like I am in a tropical paradise, sipping on something the cabana boy just served me. This lava flow drink, peach smoothie, and Dole pineapple whip are perfect for quenching your thirst and bringing a touch of the tropics to your day!

Reasons to Make Sherbet Punch

  • Simple Ingredients: With only four main ingredients (plus garnish), this recipe is easy to shop for and prepare.
  • Refreshing and Delicious: The blend of lemon-lime soda, pineapple juice, and Hawaiian punch with creamy rainbow sherbet creates a uniquely sweet and tangy flavor that’s perfect for hot days.
  • Party Favorite: This punch is perfect for parties, family gatherings, or any social event where you want to serve a crowd-pleasing drink.

What is Rainbow Sherbet Punch?

Sherbet punch is like that nostalgic drink you loved as a kid at family gatherings. I remember marveling at its incredible taste and creamy smoothness. Similar to a root beer float, it combines ice cream with a fizzy drink, creating a refreshing treat.

Ingredients in Sherbet Punch

This sherbet punch recipe comes together quickly and easily with only four already-made ingredients and zero prep time. You can have it ready in no time! Scroll down to see the recipe card at the bottom of this post for exact measurements.

  • Sprite: Soda adds fun fizziness and bright citrus flavor.
  • Pineapple Juice:  Pineapple juice adds an acidity that balances out the sweetness.
  • Hawaiian Punch: This fruit punch provides a rich sweetness with tropical flair.
  • Rainbow Sherbet: This is what makes the punch so delicious and creamy!
  • Pineapple Slices: I love using fresh fruit as a garnish. It not only adds flavor but a gorgeous pop of color to the punch as well!
Overhead shot of ingredient items and labels.

How Do You Make Sherbet Punch?

This punch only uses 4 ingredients and comes together so quickly. It is easy to make and feeds a crowd!

  1. Combine: Add the Sprite, pineapple juice, and Hawaiian punch to a large punch bowl, pitcher, or drink dispenser and stir to combine.
  2. Add: Scoop the sherbet on top of the punch.
  3. Garnish: As an option, you can garnish with fresh pineapple slices.
  4. Serve: I recommend you make this right before serving so that it stays chilled.

Homemade Sherbet Substitutions

This drink is so delicious as is, but if you want to change up the flavors (or make it for adults only!) then here are some ideas for you:

  • Change up your drink flavor: You can substitute the Sprite for any other lemon-lime soda, ginger ale, Mountain Dew, or Fresca. For a special twist, look for holiday flavors, like cranberry soda.
  • Change up the sherbet flavor: Although rainbow sherbet is my favorite, you can use other sherbet for this recipe. You could try strawberry, pineapple, lemon, lime sherbet or any other flavor that catches your eye.
  • Make it for Adults: You can make this a boozy adult punch by adding 1-2 cups of vodka or a bottle of champagne or Prosecco.
This is a picture of someone holding an ice cream scoop filled with rainbow sherbet over a large bowl filled with the drink and other dollops of rainbow sherbet.

Tips for Making Sherbet Punch

The best part about this Sherbet Punch recipe is that you can personalize it to suit your preferences.

  • Chill Ahead of Time: Ensure the juices are chilled ahead of time! If you refrigerate your lemon-lime soda, pineapple juice, and Hawaiian punch overnight, they’ll be perfectly cold when you assemble the punch.
  • Garnish your punch with slices of fresh pineapple, citrus, or berries!
  • Make it Sweeter: The juice ratios in this recipe can be adjusted to your liking. As the sherbet melts the punch tends to become much more sweet. You can add more of any of the juices to balance things out as the sherbet melts.
  • Soften Sherbet: Set your sherbet out on the counter for 10 minutes before scooping it into the punch. It will make it easier to scoop the sherbet and result in foam forming on the punch quicker.
  • What do I serve sorbet punch in?: It’s great served in a punch bowl, but it can be served in a pitcher or a drink dispenser!
Side view of a large bowl filled with bright red punch that is topped with rainbow sherbet that has foam and big chunks of the sherbet.

Making Ahead and Storing Leftovers

Since this sherbet punch comes together so quickly, I recommend making it right before serving, but if you need to do some prep work, the information for that is below.

  • Can I Make Sherbet Punch Ahead? You can mix the pineapple juice and Hawaiian punch 2-3 days in advance and keep it chilled in the refrigerator, but adding the soda ahead of time will leave you with flat punch as the carbonation will dissipate. It’s best to add the soda and sherbet just before you serve this drink.
  • In the Refrigerator: You can save leftover punch in a pitcher in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, but the sherbet will be melted and the soda will go flat.

Elevate the flavors of traditional horchata with this strawberry horchata recipe! It’s a creamy drink soaked in rice water and cinnamon sticks, then sweetened with a strawberry puree. Everyone loves the strawberry version of this rich, milky Mexican drink!

Any time the weather gets warmer, I love to break out all of the refreshing drink recipes! Some of my favorites are Brazilian lemonade, a mango lassi, or a mint julep

Close view of a glass of strawberry horchata with a pitcher behind it.

What is Strawberry Horchata?

Horchata is a popular Mexican drink known as a sweetened rice milk and this strawberry horchata version is even better! It starts with a blended combination of rice, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon sticks then mixes with a sweet strawberry puree. Then comes the addition of sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk. It adds the perfect sweetness and creaminess to the drink! I love balancing out the creamy cinnamon sweetness by adding a fresh strawberry puree makes this horchata irresistible.

It’s super creamy, refreshing, and filled with sweet strawberry flavor. The fresh strawberry flavor adds the perfect touch. In fact, strawberries are the perfect touch in a lot of my favorite recipes. Try this tasty salad, this easy cake, or the best strawberry banana bread!

Ingredients You’ll Need

This homemade strawberry horchata uses simple ingredients that you get at the grocery store. It is a true authentic Mexican treat and a perfect refreshing drink for a warm day.

  • Cinnamon Sticks: Find these at your local grocery store in the spice section.
  • Vanilla: This is the best flavor combination with vanilla.
  • Rice: Long-grained white rice is best.
  • Hot Water: It is best to use hot water. After soaking in the rice it becomes a creamy milk rice.
  • Sugar: Add in more sugar to sweeten or less if it is too sweet.
  • Strawberries: The star of this drink! Use fresh strawberries and save some to garnish when serving.
  • Lemon Juice: The acidity balances out the sweetness and brightens the flavors in the strawberry puree.
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk: The creamy sweetness this adds to the strawberry horchata is a must!
  • Evaporated Milk: Adds richness and creaminess to the horchata.
  • Ice: Horchata is served with ice so that it is nice and cold!
Ingredients labeled to make strawberry horchata.

How to Make Strawberry Horchata

Homemade strawberry horchata is time-consuming but only because of the time it needs to soak. The rest of the recipe is very easy and I walk you through all the steps! Plan ahead of time to make this refreshing beverage. It’s worth it!

  1. Soak: Break the cinnamon sticks into pieces and the cinnamon, vanilla, rice, and hot water to a container or bowl and stir until combined. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours to soak the rice.
  2. Blend the Strawberry Mixture: Prepare a strawberry sauce by adding the strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice to a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a container, cover, then refrigerate until you are ready to finish preparing the horchata.
  3. Blend and Strain the Rice Mixture: After the rice mixture has soaked for at least 6 hours, add it to a blender and blend for 2-3 minutes on high speed. Strain through a fine mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth or a coffee filter into a large pitcher, but discard all of the solids.
  4. Add in the Both Kinds of Milk and Strawberry Puree: Add in the sweetened condensed milk, and evaporated milk. Stir in the strawberry puree.
  5. Serve: Taste and adjust to your preferences by adding cold water, a little more sugar, or milk. When it tastes the way you like, fill the rest of the pitcher with ice and fresh strawberries. Serve immediately.

Strawberry Horchata Tips

Here are some extra tips below to make your strawberry horchata a success! Everyone loves horchata and the added strawberry flavor is a crowd-pleaser.

  • Use Frozen Strawberries: You can use frozen strawberries to make your puree! Thaw them completely before blending them with the remaining ingredients. This will allow you to make delicious strawberry horchata when strawberries are out of season.
  • Dairy-Free Option: You can make this a completely dairy-free recipe by using dairy-free sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk.
  • Rinse the Rice: Sometimes horchata can be a little too chalky for some people. To lessen the chalkiness, rinse the rice under cold water until the water is clear before using it in the recipe.
Close view of a large glass pitcher full of horchata with the strawberry puree pouring in.

Storing Leftovers

Strawberry horchata can be a little time-consuming, that’s why it’s great to make ahead of time. It’s a labor of love, but so worth every sweet sip!

  • In the Refrigerator: Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Make in Advance: The strawberry puree may be made a day in advance and kept chilled in the refrigerator for 1 week. You can also freeze the puree in the freezer for up to 3 months. Move it to the refrigerator to thaw before using.
  • In the Freezer: Store in an airtight container or Ziplock bag for up to 1 month. Move it to the refrigerator to thaw. It can take up to 24 hours to completely thaw.

As soon as you feel a cold coming on, make yourself a Hot Toddy! This warm and comforting beverage is made of brewed tea with honey, lemon, and cozy spices stirred in. Although traditionally made with dark liquor, this recipe is non-alcoholic so the whole family can enjoy it!

It has been so cold lately, hot drinks have been the only thing getting me through this winter! Here are a few more of my favorite recipes that you should try next: wassail, Mexican hot chocolate, and Crockpot apple cider!

Hot Toddy Recipe

It’s cold out there! Winter finally hit Utah full-force, so I’ve been looking for ways to stay warm. Honestly, hot toddys are so underrated. If you’ve never had one before, it’s a cozy mix of brewed tea, honey, lemon, and spices. Aaand you’re going to want one in hand all winter long.

This hot toddy recipe is ideal for when you’re feeling under the weather. (Or just craving some wintery comfort!) And get this – it’s totally alcohol-free! So even kiddos can get in on the cozy action. But don’t worry, grown-ups, I got you covered. Scroll down for some liquor add-ins if you’re wanting to spice things up.

Ingredients in a Hot Toddy

Got the winter blues? This hot toddy recipe is here to warm your soul and maybe even soothe that tickle in your throat. It’s packed with immune-boosting goodness and winter flavors, and is completely alcohol-free! So grab your favorite mug and let’s dive into the delicious details:

  • Black Tea: The base of the drink, black tea adds a kick of caffeine and comforting warmth. Choose your favorite – Chai, Earl Grey, English Breakfast for classic strength, or any other brew that tickles your fancy. You can also use herbal tea if you want something caffeine-free.
  • Honey: Nature’s sweet soother, honey coats your throat and gives your immune system a little TLC. Plus, it also adds a touch of sweetness that complements the spice blend beautifully.
  • Lemon Juice: A burst of vitamin C and a zesty counterpoint to the honey, fresh lemon juice cuts through the richness and wakes up your taste buds. Squeeze your own for maximum freshness, or if you’re feeling lazy, store-bought works just fine.
  • Spices: Cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon create the best wintery flavor in your mug. They not only taste amazing, but help to boost your immune system and clear up your sinuses.

How to Make It

It’s so easy, and takes less than 5 minutes to mix up. Whenever you get a scratchy throat or feel under the weather, make yourself a hot toddy!

  1. Combine Ingredients: Stir the honey, lemon juice, and spices into the hot tea.
  2. Serve: Serve with a slice of lemon, cinnamon stick, and whole star anise.

Tips and Variations

Hot toddies are super easy to make, but there are a few ways to make them even better. Use these tips to upgrade yours!

  • Strain: If you don’t like the grittiness of the spices, let the tea steep with the spices for 5 minutes before straining through a fine mesh sieve. Reheat if needed.
  • Different Types of Tea: I used chai tea, but any black tea would be great with this recipe. For an alternative without caffeine or black tea, use chamomile or Bengal Spice tea.
  • Fresh lemon juice is a must! Don’t use the bottled stuff, that has additives to make it shelf stable that will make the Toddy taste off.
  • Adding Alcohol: For an alcoholic kick, add 1 ½ ounces of dark liquor, such as brandy, rum, bourbon, whiskey, scotch, or cognac.

How Long Will a Hot Toddy Last?

Hot toddys are best made fresh. Discard any leftovers and make a fresh cup when you’re ready for another!

This creamy and sweet golden milk smoothie will brighten your morning! The smooth texture comes from the mangos, Greek yogurt, and banana. It’s spiced to perfection and bursting with healthy benefits.

Smoothies are perfect for a good breakfast, lunch, or snack. They are perfect for taking on the go, and the flavor possibilities are endless! I especially love this creamy pineapple smoothie, this delicious peach smoothie, and this healthy detox smoothie.

What is a Golden Milk Smoothie?

This golden milk smoothie is a tasty variation of golden milk. Golden milk has been around for centuries in the Indian culture and is known for its powerful health benefits. The delicious combination of spices consists of turmeric, cinnamon, and black pepper. Nutrient-packed spices full of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties to help strengthen and heal your immune system. This easy golden milk smoothie has added fruit and yogurt because it creates that perfect creamy texture. You’re going to love every sip of it!

I love starting my day with nutritious ingredients to fuel my body. This smoothie is such a delicious and healthy breakfast! If you’re wanting more healthy breakfast ideas then I have you covered. Try more healthy breakfast options like these easy yogurt parfaits, chia pudding, or this amazing avocado toast.

Ingredients Needed

Simple and fresh ingredients are what make this golden milk smoothie so creamy and delicious! See the recipe card at the bottom of the post for exact measurements!

  • Milk: Any variety of milk will work!
  • Mango Chunks: Frozen mango chunks work best in this smoothie.
  • Greek Yogurt: Greek yogurt makes this smoothie recipe healthy because it adds protein to start your day. Plain or vanilla yogurt can also be used.
  • Banana: I always liked to use frozen bananas in smoothies, but fresh bananas work too! Use ripe bananas because they are the sweetest!
  • Ginger Paste: Ginger adds great flavor and nutrients.
  • Turmeric: The perfect spice to give this smoothie its vibrant orange color. I used ground turmeric in this recipe.
  • Cinnamon: Ground cinnamon is a great spice to compliment all the flavors in this golden milk smoothie.
  • Black Pepper: Enhances the flavors and also adds a little kick to the smoothie.

Golden Milk Smoothie Recipe

This is super easy to make and won’t take you more than 5 minutes! I love recipes that I can make and take with me on the run. This one is easy and perfect for breakfast when you’re running out the door.

  1. Blend Ingredients: Add all the ingredients to a blender then blend until creamy and smooth.
  2. Texture Tips: If you want a thicker smoothie then add more Greek yogurt and mango chunks, or use a frozen banana.
  3. Enjoy: Pour into two glasses then enjoy! Sprinkle extra cinnamon on top for a finishing touch.

Golden Milk Smoothie Variations

Take this smoothie to the next level but switch things up and make it your own! Here are a few variations for making this golden milk smoothie. You’re going to love these variations!

  • Fruit Substitutions: You can swap the mango out for pineapple or more banana if you prefer those fruits.
  • Make it Dairy-Free: For a dairy-free smoothie, use plant-based milk and substitute Greek yogurt for a dairy-free Greek yogurt. Try almond milk, cashew milk, or coconut milk for delicious options.
  • Creamier Smoothie: Freeze the banana before adding it to the smoothie because this is the trick to a creamy smoothie!
  • Add Protein Powder: Add a scoop or two of your favorite vanilla protein powder to get a little extra protein in for the day! It won’t change up the flavor or texture too much, but it will help fill you up for longer!
  • Make it Sweeter: Need it a little sweeter? Then drizzle in some honey or agave to add sweetness.

This golden milk smoothie is best enjoyed fresh! Even after a few hours in the fridge, it will start to separate and melt. Drink it right away for the best texture and flavor!

The whole family will love this fun Roy Rogers drink made with Coca-Cola, grenadine syrup, and Maraschino cherries on top! Only 3 simple ingredients to enjoy this classic non-alcoholic drink.

Looking for more ways to keep cool, stay hydrated, or drink a tasty treat? Try this mango strawberry smoothiefrosted lemonade, or cherry limeade!

Close view of Roy Rogers drink in a tall glass with ice and cherries on top.

What is a Roy Rogers Drink?

The Roy Rogers drink is said to be inspired by a famous American singer named Roy Rogers. Because Rogers did not drink alcohol, he would most likely order this classic mocktail made of Coke and grenadine. And so became this well known alcohol-free drink! Soda shops served this tasty drink in the 1950’s and it has since become a non-alcoholic menu favorite! Grenadine has a pomegranate base and adds a sweet tartness to the drink.

If you’re looking for more mocktail or non-alcoholic options like this Roy Rogers drink, then I have you covered! Try this fruity lava flow, a tropical mocktail favorite. It’s great to have options, and most fun and festive drinks can be made without alcohol like this virgin mojito or classic eggnog.

Ingredients Needed

Ready to make a refreshing three-ingredient drink that everyone will go crazy over? Here is everything that you’ll need! And it doesn’t get any easier than three simple ingredients that make the tastiest combination!

  • Grenadine: Flavored syrup that is a perfect add-in for drinks! It also adds a bright red color to the drink.
  • Coca-Cola: Classic coca-cola. Feel free to use Diet or Coke Zero if you like.
  • Maraschino Cherries: Cute jarred cherries for garnish! Everyone loves a drink with a cherry on top!
  • Ice: Add ice just before serving if you want!

Roy Rogers Drink Recipe

This Roy Rogers drink is incredibly delicious and the easiest drink you will ever make! All it takes is a couple of steps, then you have a tasty drink ready to sip on and enjoy! Make this easy mocktail because it takes no time at all.

  1. Add Ice and Grenadine to a Glass: Fill a tall glass halfway with ice cubes, then pour the grenadine syrup over the ice.
  2. Pour in the Coke: Pour the Coke into the glass then stir with a spoon to mix the drink.
  3. Garnish with Maraschino Cherries: Top with Maraschino Cherries then enjoy!
First photo of grenadine syrup pouring into a glass over ice. Second photo of Coke pouring into the glass.

Roy Rogers Tips

Make your Roy Rogers drink just the way you like it! I have tips to meet everyone’s needs, even caffeine-free options for kids. This is the easiest drink to make for the whole family.

  • Grenadine Syrup: You can add more grenadine syrup to flavor the drink, just depending on your taste preference! Make it as sweet as you want.
  • Coke-Cola Options: For a low-sugar option, sub the regular Coke for Coke Zero or Diet Coke. Use caffeine-free Coke for kiddos because they have enough energy as it is!
  • Other Soda Options: Don’t like Coke? Although Coke is traditionally used, you can substitute it for other sodas. Try using Pepsi or Dr. Pepper if you’re into that.

Best Enjoyed Right Away

I recommend serving this Roy Rogers drink immediately. Prepare it right before serving. Chill the Coke ahead of time and serve over ice.

Get toasty from the inside out with champurrado, a delicious variation of Mexican hot chocolate! Deep, melty chocolate meets warming spices and brown sugar, all thickened with corn flour for a velvety smooth sip. Perfect for chasing any winter blues away!

If you’re looking for more warm beverages to cozy up with, try Mexican hot chocolate, wassail, or crockpot apple cider!

Champurrado in a brown mug. It's filled with star anise and surrounded with cinnamon sticks.

What is Champurrado?

Imagine a hot chocolate so thick it hugs your spoon, packed with chocolatey goodness and spiked with warm spices like cinnamon and anise. That’s champurrado, a warm Mexican drinking chocolate that you’re going to absolutely love.

Sweetened with brown sugar and thickened with corn flour, it’s rich and sweet. A type of atole, (corn-based beverage) champurrado has a unique texture that you won’t be able to get enough of. So grab your favorite mug and let’s make some!

Ingredients in Champurrado

For the ultimate experience, I recommend using piloncillo (Mexican brown sugar) and Mexican chocolate tablets here. You can usually find them in your local grocery store or online. The flavor they create is so amazing!

  • Whole Milk: A creamy base for the drink. You can also mix in some half and half to make it extra creamy and luscious.
  • Water: Just enough to get things simmering.
  • Piloncillo: Dark brown sugar with a molasses kick for deep sweetness. If you can’t find piloncillo, you can also use regular brown sugar.
  • Cinnamon Stick: To infuse warm, spiced flavor into the champurrado.
  • Star Anise: Tiny pod that adds a touch of licorice flavor.
  • Cloves: Another spice to give this drink the perfect warm flavor.
  • Mexican Chocolate: Rich, dark tablets to make this drink extra chocolatey.
  • Masa Harina: Corn flour that thickens up the champurrado. This is what makes it so good!
  • Vanilla: For some extra flavor. I recommend using Mexican vanilla or pure vanilla extract!
  • Salt: Just a pinch to bring out all of the delicious flavors!

Use Mexican Chocolate Tablets

Don’t settle for regular cocoa powder. Grab those rich, dark Mexican chocolate tablets for the best flavor! Abuelita brand knows what’s up.

How to Make It

Champurrado is pretty simple to make, but it does need time to simmer and thicken. This is what makes it so delicious! Don’t try to rush the cooking process.

  1. Add Liquids to Saucepan: Pour the milk and 3 cups water into a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add Sugar and Spices: Add the piloncillo, whole cloves, star anise, and the cinnamon stick. Heat until it starts boiling then reduce the heat to a simmer for about 10 minutes or until the piloncillo has dissolved.
  3. Melt Chocolate: Add 2 Mexican chocolate tablets. Whisk occasionally for 5 minutes until the chocolate has melted.
  4. Prepare Masa Harina: In a medium bowl, add 1½ cups warm water then whisk in the masa harina until combined.
  5. Strain: Pour the masa harina mixture into the sauce pan through a fine mesh strainer. Straining the mixture is important to achieve a smooth texture! Quickly whisk in the mixture to prevent any clumping.
  6. Simmer and Thicken: Increase the heat to bring the champurrado to a boil. Once it starts boiling, then reduce the heat to a simmer, whisking continuously. After 8-10 minutes the mixture will thicken. Once it starts to thicken, cook an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Serve: Remove the champurrado from the heat and allow it to cool slightly before serving.
Adding the chocolate, sugar and spices to the milk mixture.

Cook Low and Slow

Once your champurrado mixture comes to a boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer. Gentle heat lets the flavors mingle and the masa thicken perfectly. You don’t want anything to scald!

How Long Does Champurrado Last?

If you have leftover champurrado, let it cool down and then transfer it to an airtight container. It will stay good in the fridge for up to 4 days! Pop it in the microwave or warm the beverage over the stove on medium-low heat when you’re ready to enjoy it again.

Non-Alcoholic Christmas Punch

The holidays and all of the parties are such a busy time that sometimes, I forget about any drinks at our gatherings! I am usually scrambling to put something together at the last minute so this punch is perfect! It’s quick and super easy to put together. Plus, it looks gorgeous and fancy when I’m done, so it’s a win-win!

Not only does this cranberry orange punch look great, but it tastes delicious too! You mix cranberry juice and orange juice together and to make it extra special you add in some sparkling soda for a fun fizz. Plus, it complements just about any food that you eat with it!

What’s In Cranberry Orange Punch?

It just takes a few ingredients to put this yummy Christmas punch together! See the recipe card below for exact measurements.

  • Orange Juice: Make this from concentrate or buy some ahead of time.
  • Cranberry Juice: This gives it a bit of a tangy flavor.
  • Lemon Lime Soda: I used Sprite for this recipe.
  • Orange Slices and Cranberries: These are optional, but they are a super easy way to make it look fancy!

Let’s Make Some Christmas Punch!

This will take you less than 5 minutes to make, but looks like a million bucks! Your family and friends will love it!

  1. Combine, stir and garnish: In a large punch bowl add the orange juice and cranberry juice. Add soda if using. Give it a good stir and garnish with orange slices and cranberries.

Variations and Tips

I love this Christmas punch! If you want to change it up so that you can use it a few times over the holiday season, here are some ideas!

  • Soda: To change it up, try Ginger Ale, Sparkling Water, or Soda Water. There are even flavored sparkling waters that make the cranberry or orange flavor stronger if you want.
  • Juice: There are several cocktail versions of cranberry juice. Use whatever you prefer to drink. The 100% cranberry juice will give you the best cranberry flavor. Just make sure it’s not a cranberry juice cocktail… it needs to be cranberry juice.
  • Sherbert: To add a little bit of texture and fun, then add orange sherbet to the drink.
  • Pineapple: Try adding pineapple juice instead of the orange. It gives this punch a whole new flavor!
  • Flavoring:  You can also add 1/2 tsp almond or vanilla flavoring for more taste.
  • Stir:  Don’t stir once you’ve added the soda. It will deflate the carbonation.

Serving Options

This Christmas punch is awesome because you can make it look different depending on how you serve it! Here are some examples and ideas for different ways to do that.

  • Bowl: Serving this in a clear bowl shows off the festive garnish and color. If you don’t have one then you can often find cheap ones at a thrift store, dollar store or Walmart. Any clear plastic one works great!
  • Mason Jars:  Serve this class pint mason jars for a rustic look.
  • Top the glasses:  Dip the rim of the glasses in water and then some sugar for a festive look.
  • Add some color:  Add a bit of green to the punch with rosemary or mint leaves or cut limes. They don’t add any flavor but will give a festive color.

Pumpkin Smoothie Recipe

This cold, creamy, incredibly flavorful pumpkin smoothie is an easy, tasty way to add nutrition into your diet. The pumpkin and banana are loaded with many different vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. In addition, the protein in the greek yogurt and almond butter will keep you fueled for hours.

You will love that this is a nutritious fall treat that tastes like dessert! In addition, it’s super quick and easy to whip up. Plus, it’s portable – take a few minutes to mix one up before heading out the door for the day. You’ll soon be craving these every morning!

Ingredients Needed

This pumpkin smoothie recipe is cold, creamy, and perfectly thick! If you keep canned pumpkin in your pantry, you may have everything to make one right now! Here’s everything you’ll need:

  • Pumpkin: Used canned pumpkin puree or try making homemade pumpkin puree. It’s way easier than you might think!
  • Bananas: We recommend sliced frozen ripe bananas to help sweeten the smoothie and create a creamy consistency.
  • Milk: While the recipe calls for pumpkin spice almond milk or plain almond milk, you can use whatever kind of milk you prefer. You can even add in a tablespoon of pumpkin spice creamer if you’d like, which will add some extra sweetness to the smoothie.
  • Greek Yogurt: I like vanilla greek yogurt in this because the vanilla flavor pairs nicely with the spices. Plain yogurt works great too!
  • Ice: Adding in about 1/2 cup of ice cubes will keep the smoothie cold and make it nice and thick.
  • Almond Butter: Optional, but I love the nuttiness that it adds. It also adds a bit of protein and healthy fats to make this smoothie filling. If you don’t have almond butter, try peanut butter.
  • Pumpkin Pie Spice: If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice on hand, make homemade pumpkin spice! Or you can use the following: 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon and a pinch each of nutmeg, ginger & allspice.

Add More Nutrients

This pumpkin pie smoothie is plenty healthy as-is, but you can also boost the nutrition by adding any of the following ingredients:

  • Ground Flaxseed: This will give your smoothie a boost of fiber, healthy fats and minerals. Add 1/2 to 1 tablespoon.
  • Chia SeedsSimilar to flaxseed, about 1/2 to 1 tablespoon of chia seeds blended into your smoothie will add healthy fats, fiber and antioxidants.
  • Protein Powder: As written, this pumpkin smoothie has 8 grams of protein. If you’d like to add more protein, consider adding a scoop of your favorite vanilla flavored protein powder.

a

How to Make This Pumpkin Smoothie

This pumpkin smoothie recipe could not be easier! You’ll love whipping one up and enjoying the tasty flavors of fall.

  • Blend: Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Served: Pour into two cups and enjoy immediately.

Tips and Variations

Smoothies are really simple to make but here are a few tips and variations that will help you make it just right!

  • For a Thicker Smoothie: To make your pumpkin smoothie plenty thick, make sure that you are adding in frozen fruit, in this case bananas. This helps it gain that thick texture!
  • Pumpkin Pie Filling: It’s important to use pure pumpkin puree and NOT pumpkin pie filling. The pumpkin pie filling contains sugar and spices.
  • Pumpkin Puree: Use homemade or canned. You can even use a heaping 1/2 cup of cubed, frozen pumpkin as long as it is already cooked.
  • Sweetener: This smoothie has some sweetness to it, but it’s not overly sweet. If you would like it to be sweeter, try adding 2 tablespoons of honey or pure maple syrup.

How Long Will My Pumpkin Smoothie Last?

As with all smoothies, this is best enjoyed as soon as it is made. It does not store well at all.
