  • Parmesan Cheese: Adds a delicious cheesy flavor to the meatball mixture!

How to Make Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs

Homemade meatballs are so easy and fun to make! Who wouldn’t love melty cheese oozing out of their meatballs? The best part is that you pop them in the oven and then warm them in your favorite sauce. Easy peasy and the whole family will want these meatballs on the weekly dinner rotation!

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, add the ground beef, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, egg, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix until everything is just combined.
  3. Take about 1 ½ tablespoons of meatball mixture in your hand and start forming it into a ball. Take one piece of the diced mozzarella, pop it into the center of the meatball, and continue to form a ball around the cheese. The meatballs should be 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Place the finished meatballs onto the prepared baking sheet pan. Once the meatballs are all formed, place them in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, cook the noodles according to the package directions. Remove the cooked meatballs from the oven.
  6. In a large saucepan or pot, add the meatballs and marinara sauce. Cook over medium-high heat until the sauce is heated evenly and the meatballs are all coated in sauce. Remove the meatballs and sauce from the heat and serve with the cooked pasta.

Tips and Variations

Follow my tips for these tasty mozzarella stuffed meatballs! I also have some fun variations below you’ll love!

  • Stuffing Tips: The meatballs should be about 1 to 1 ½ inches in diameter. No mozzarella should be peaking through the meat once the meatball is finished forming because the cheese will ooze out.
  • Cheese: Fresh mozzarella cheese is best and it melts perfectly, but you can switch up the cheese if you prefer. Pepper jack cheese smoked gouda, or even cheddar cheese would work well!
  • Switch up the Sauce: You don’t have to use a marinara sauce to serve these meatballs. Alfredo, pesto, or a carbonara-style sauce would be delicious as well!
  • Make a Meatball Sub: These meatballs are perfect make a great meatball sub! My kids love it when we have leftovers for this very reason because it’s so yummy!

Boursin Pork Chops are savory, tender, and covered in a delicious cheesy cream sauce. This one-pan recipe is the perfect easy main that can be on your dinner table in just 30 minutes!

My family absolutely loves pork chops for dinner! Why? Because they are so versatile and can be prepared in a variety of ways. After you try this recipe, you’ll have to try these fun Hawaiian pork chops, these delicious smothered pork chops, and these easy grilled pork chops. You’re sure to love them all!

Overhead shot of cooked Boursin pork chops in pan.

Reasons You’ll Love These Pork Chops

  • Amazing Flavor: The Boursin cheese really elevates this pork chop recipe into a fantastic dinner! It’s a soft, creamy cheese that’s available in a variety of flavors, with a texture somewhat similar to cream cheese. Try our Boursin mashed potatoes next.
  • Comforting Flavors: Creamy sauce, savory pork, and major cheesiness make for a crowd-pleasing meal.
  • Minimal Cleanup: One-pot cooking means less mess and fewer dishes to wash.

Boursin Pork Chops

Just like with our Boursin Chicken, these Boursin Pork Chops are out of this world delicious! It’s an easy-to-make recipe with a creamy, flavorful sauce that’s definitely restaurant-quality. Simply season and sear the pork. Then, in the same pan, mix together a creamy, dreamy sauce with minced shallots, broth, heavy cream, parmesan, and Boursin cheese. Add the pork back to the pan, then serve over mashed potatoes to soak up the amazing sauce!

Ingredients Needed For Simple Boursin Pork Chops

Not only do these simple ingredients and seasonings come together for the most tender, flavorful pork chops you’ll ever have, I’m guessing you already have them in your kitchen! Check out the recipe card at the end of the post for exact measurements.

Pork Chops

  • Pork Chops: Choose boneless pork chops that are about 1-inch thick.
  • Garlic Powder: Adds savory flavor to the pork chops.
  • Italian Seasoning: You can use store-bought or try my homemade dried Italian seasoning blend.
  • Kosher Salt & Black Pepper: Basic seasonings add your first layer of flavor.
Overhead shot of labeled ingredients.

Incredibly Tasty Creamy Herb Sauce

  • Olive Oil and Butter: To sear the meat and add richness to the sauce.
  • Shallot: Sautéed for a mild onion taste.
  • Garlic: For savory garlic flavor.
  • Chicken Broth: Provides the sauce with extra flavor and makes for the perfect consistency.
  • Heavy Cream: The smooth and creamy base of the sauce.
  • Parmesan Cheese: If possible, use freshly grated cheese from a block to give the sauce the best flavor and velvety consistency.
  • Boursin Cheese: You will love how rich, creamy, and tasty Boursin cheese makes this sauce.
  • Herbs: Fresh chopped parsley and thyme add herby flavor and a pop of color.
Overhead shot of labeled sauce ingredients.

How to Make This Recipe

This Boursin pork chop recipe is great to make for busy weeknights, family meals, or even intimate dinners because it will definitely be a hit. Here are the easy instructions for making this hearty dish:

  1. Season and Prep Pork Chops: Pat the pork chops dry, then season all sides with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt and pepper. I would then recommend you cut a few small slits in the sides of the pork chops to keep them from curling up as they cook.
  2. Sear: Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet on the stove over medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot, sear the pork chops for 3-5 minutes on each side until they are golden on the outside.
  3. Sauté the Shallot: Once the pork chops are seared, remove them from the pan and set them on a plate. Add the shallot to the pan, then sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Make the Sauce: Add in the garlic and sauté another minute. Add in the chicken broth, heavy cream, parmesan cheese, Boursin cheese, parsley, and thyme.
  5. Add the Pork Chops to the Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium-low and continually stir until you have a creamy sauce. Add the pork chops back to the pan and cook for another 5 minutes until they are cooked through, coating each pork chop in the sauce.
  6. Serve: Enjoy fresh with additional salt and pepper, parsley and thyme, and your favorite side!

Tips for Making Boursin Pork Chops

These creamy pork chops are both tender and flavorful. To consistently achieve perfect results, consider these essential tips

  • Remove from Fridge: I recommend removing your pork chops from the fridge about 30 minutes before cooking. If the meat is too cold before you cook, the outside will cook too quickly before the inside reaches the right temperature, which for pork is 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Use Dried Herbs: You can use dried herbs in place of fresh ones, I like a 1:1 substitution.
  • Sauce Consistency: If you feel your sauce is too thick, then I suggest adding additional chicken broth until you get the perfect consistency.
  • Homemade Boursin Cheese: Want to make your own Boursin Cheese for this recipe? Then give our irresistible homemade Boursin Cheese a try!
  • Side Options: These chops are so versatile that they pair well with anything. They’re delicious on top of rice, potatoes, pasta, or even cauliflower rice. If you like more veggies, then you could try making it with mushrooms, green beans, spinach, or roasted carrots.
  • Don’t Wipe Out Pan: Leave the drippings and brown pieces in the pan after cooking the meat because it adds great flavor to the sauce. In fact, I suggest scraping them off the bottom with your spatula to be sure they mix into the sauce.
Angle shot of wooden spoon dishing out a Boursin pork chop out of pan.

Storing Leftovers

One of the reasons that I love making these saucy pork chops is that they make great leftovers!

  • In the Refrigerator: Allow the pork to cool completely before storing in an airtight container. Cooked pork chops with Boursin sauce will keep well for up to 3 days in the fridge.
  • Reheat: To warm up stored leftovers, place them on a skillet medium-low until warm throughout.

  • Perfect for a party or game day: Serve these with a few dips and other handheld bites or make them into more of a meal and pair them with a fresh salad, or some veggies and some fruit.

What are Texas Twinkies?

Texas Twinkies are bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers stuffed with cream cheese, smoked brisket, shredded cheese, and seasonings and finished with BBQ sauce. They are unbelievably delicious and a major crowd-pleaser!

While I’ve been stuffing peppers and wrapping them in bacon for years, this version made famous by Hutchins BBQ in McKinney, Texas, takes your classic poppers to the next level! They use extra large jalapeños and fill them with smoked brisket and cream cheese, then wrap them in a thick slice of bacon and smoke them until the bacon is crispy and the pepper is tender. So good, you won’t be able to stop with just one!

Ingredients You’ll Need

This Texas Twinkies recipe is made with easy-to-find ingredients. However, it does require pre-cooked brisket. You can buy smoked brisket from your favorite barbecue joint or make my tried and true slow cooker beef brisket.

  • Jalapeño peppers: Choose fresh, bright green jalapeños that are big enough to hold all of the stuffing.
  • Cream Cheese: Adds creaminess and balances the heat from the peppers. Be sure to soften your cream cheese so it’s easy to mix with the other filling ingredients.
  • Smoked Brisket: Gives the best savory, smoky, and meaty flavor.
  • Cheese: For extra cheesiness! We really like shredded pepper jack cheese, but other cheeses will work.
  • Seasonings: Mix in garlic powder and onion powder to bring just a hint of garlic and onion flavor.
  • Bacon: Bacon makes everything better! Regular bacon will crisp up best.
  • BBQ Sauce: Use my homemade BBQ sauce recipe or your favorite store-bought variety.

How to Make Texas Twinkies

Follow these few simple steps, then you’ll have a tasty appetizer your family and friends will love!

  1. Prep: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Slice the Jalapeños: Prepare the jalapeños by cutting a slit down the length of one side and then another cut across the top, stopping before cutting all the way through. The two cuts should form a T on the jalapeño. Keep the stem, but remove the seeds and veins. Repeat with the remaining jalapenos.
  3. Make the Filling: Combine the cream cheese, brisket, pepper jack, and seasonings in a large bowl. Spoon the brisket mixture into the jalapeños until they are filled but are still able to close all the way.
  4. Wrap With Bacon: Wrap each jalapeño tightly with a slice of bacon. You can use toothpicks to hold the bacon on the peppers, but they are not necessary.
  5. Bake: Line the jalapeños up on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, until the bacon is getting crispy and the jalapeños are tender. Brush each one generously with BBQ sauce and bake for an additional 5 minutes,
  6. Cool and enjoy: Let them cool slightly before serving.

Hot Tip: Wear Gloves!

***I recommend using disposable gloves when cutting and deseeding jalapenos so you don’t get the spicy oils from jalapeños on your skin, eyes, or face. These oils can linger on your hands even after washing, so gloves will help prevent that.

Texas Twinkie Tips and Variations

Texas Twinkies are easy to make and customizable! Below are a few tips and simple variation ideas to spice things up.

  • Use Different Cheese: I used pepper jack cheese in my Texas Twinkies, but other delicious choices would be sharp cheddar cheese, smoked gouda, or Monterey jack. You can do a combination of any hard cheese that you love.
  • Using Thick-Cut Bacon: It may take a little bit longer to render the fat as much as you prefer, so add a few minutes at a time to the baking time and keep an eye on the doneness.
  • Don’t Overstuff With Filling: Be careful not to overstuff these bad boys! If you add too much filling, it can leak out onto the baking sheet. Fill them just enough that the cavity inside the jalapeno is full, and the sides can touch when you close them. But fear not—even if they leak, they are still delicious!
  • Using a Toothpick: You can use a toothpick at the top and bottom of each jalapeño to anchor the bacon to it. You don’t have to do this, but the bacon will sometimes curl and unwrap itself from the ends as it bakes.
  • Size of Jalapeños: Jalapeños vary in size, and larger ones may need 1 ½ to 2 slices of bacon to be fully wrapped. If you need to use more than one slice, secure the bacon with a wooden toothpick. The bacon will fuse as it bakes, allowing you to remove the toothpick before serving.
  • Smoking: Can you smoke Texas Twinkies? Yes!! Smoke these in your smoker at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 40-45 minutes.
Close up shot of cooked Texas Twinkies.

Storing Leftovers Jalapeño Poppers

While bacon-wrapped jalapeños are best enjoyed straight out of the oven, here’s how to store any leftovers you might have:

  • In the Refrigerator: Place any leftover peppers in an airtight container and refrigerate them for up to 2 days. The bacon may lose some of its crispiness, but the overall flavor will still be enjoyable.
  • To Reheat: To reheat, place on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-15 minutes or until the bacon is nice and crispy again. You can also reheat these in an air fryer.

Making this delicious Boursin cheese with fresh, savory herbs lends to a healthier, more customizable cheese experience.

Homemade Boursin Cheese

Boursin cheese was created by François Boursin, who set out to make a delicious garlic and fresh herb-infused Gournay cheese. I’m absolutely in love with Boursin’s creamy texture and flavor. So, I decided to try making my own homemade version. There’s something so satisfying about making it with my favorite herbs and enjoying that rich, creamy goodness.

What is in Boursin Cheese?

With the following ingredients, you can put together a flavorful, creamy cheese in no time. For exact measurements, scroll down to the recipe card below.

  • Cream Cheese: Acts as a base for your homemade spreadable, creamy cheese. Make sure you leave it out until it is soft or around room temperature.
  • Salted Butter: Adds a richness and smooth texture.
  • Garlic Powder: Gives the cheese a robust, savory flavor.
  • Fresh Chives: Adds a slight onion flavor.
  • Fresh Parsley: Provides a fresh, slightly peppery flavor and beautiful green color.
  • Salt: Enhances the flavors of all the other ingredients.
  • White Pepper: Balances the flavors from the herbs
  • Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese: Compliments the texture and adds a nutty, salty, umami flavor.
Overhead shot of labeled ingredients.

Homemade Boursin Cheese Recipe

Making your own Boursin cheese is super simple and a fun way to impress your guests. Ultimately, this homemade Boursin cheese will elevate any dish and delight your guests with its rich, flavorful taste.

  1. Combine: Add all of the ingredients to a large bowl.
  2. Mix: Using an electric hand mixer, blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Shape: Line a small bowl with saran wrap. Spoon the cheese mixture into the bowl lined with saran wrap, then wrap it tightly and refrigerate for 1 hour or until it holds its shape.
  4. Serve: Use it for any recipe that calls for Boursin cheese. You can also enjoy it as a spread for crackers or veggies!

Tips and Variations

  • Serving Ideas: Boursin cheese is delicious in so many recipes! Enjoy it on baked or mashed potatoes. It’s perfect with crostini, crackers, and spread on bagels.
  • Switch Up the Herbs: Try experimenting with different herbs and flavors like basil, rosemary, or cilantro.
  • Add-ins: Add in more flavor and textures. Caramelized onion and roasted garlic pieces would be SO incredible.
  • Give it a Kick: If you like things spicy, then drizzle in some hot sauce or, alternatively, add red pepper flakes to kick up the heat!

How to Store and Serve Boursin Cheese

The great thing about this cheese is you can make it ahead of time and store it in the fridge until you’re ready to serve or use in other recipes.

  • In the Refrigerator: Refrigerate the cheese in an airtight container for up to 7 days.
  • At Room Temperature: Boursin Cheese is best enjoyed at room temperature, so allow the cheese to sit at room temperature before serving.
  • In the Freezer: I don’t recommend freezing Boursin cheese.

Get ready to rustle up some serious flavor with this Cowboy Queso! Packed with zesty sausage, hearty beans, and a kick of beer, it’s the perfect dip for any gathering—just grab your tortilla chips and dig in!

This appetizer is the perfect pairing for taco night or really any Mexican meal. And you’ll definitely want to serve it at your next party or potluck! Here are some of our other go-to dips to try next: easy taco dip, addicting bean dip or this classic 7-layer dip.

Cowboy queso in a skillet.

Reasons You’ll Love This Recipe

  • It’s a Crowd Favorite: Queso is always a welcome dip and especially when it tastes as incredible as cowboy queso!
  • Easy to Make: Just a handful of ingredients and about 20 minutes is all you need for the best Mexican-style dip ever!
  • SO Addicting: This appetizer will be the hit of any party! Once you start dipping, you just can’t stop!

What is Cowboy Queso?

This has quickly become my go-to dip when I need something easy that I know everyone will devour! Cowboy queso is very similar to our smoked queso dip, made with sausage and Velveeta cheese. However, this cowboy version is taken to the next level with the addition of beer, beans and corn! It’s quick and easy to whip up and makes a great appetizer for any occasion from parties to lazy weekends!

Ingredients in Cowboy Queso

Velveeta cheese is a must in this dip because it’s incredibly melty and has the creamiest texture for dipping. Combine that with the sausage and all of the other flavorful ingredients, and you’ll have an amazing appetizer for game day, parties, or family get-togethers. Check out the recipe card at the bottom of the post for exact measurements.

  • Mild Sausage: 1 pound cooked and crumbled.
  • Chili Powder: For a subtle kick of heat.
  • Onion powder: Gives this dip the perfect onion flavor.
  • Pale Ale Beer: Adds robust deep flavor.
  • Rotel: A delicious combination of diced tomatoes and green chilies.
  • Velveeta Cheese: Don’t try to substitute the Velveeta. You will love the creamy texture it gives the dip.
  • Monterey Jack Cheese: If you have the time, shred this yourself from a block. It will have the best flavor and melt more smoothly.
  • Black Beans: Rinse and drain for added fiber, flavor and texture.
  • Corn: Use canned or frozen corn for a hint of sweetness in every bite.

For Serving

  • Garnish: A garnish of fresh cilantro, diced tomatoes, and sliced jalapeños adds color, texture and extra flavor.
  • Tortilla Chips: The classic option for any type of queso dip!

Beer Replacement

Use chicken broth or beef broth to replace the beer in this recipe if you prefer!

How to Make Cowboy Queso

This cowboy queso recipe requires little effort and has the best cheesy consistency and mouth-watering flavor! You won’t want to stop dipping!

  1. Cook the Sausage: In a large cast iron skillet, add the sausage. Cook and crumble over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Drain any grease once cooked through.
  2. Add Seasonings and Beer: Stir in the chili powder, onion powder, and beer. Allow the beer to cook and reduce for about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add Cheese: Add the Velveeta and Monterey Jack cheeses. Reduce the heat to medium and melt the cheese, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the Beans, Corn, and Rotel: Once the cheese is melted, stir in the beans, corn, and Rotel tomatoes and heat through for about 5 minutes.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with chopped cilantro, diced tomatoes, and jalapeños. Serve warm with chips!

Cowboy Queso in the Crockpot

Cook and brown the sausage over the stove then drain any excess grease. Add all of the remaining ingredients to the crock pot. Cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours.

Tips and Variations

Here are some suggestions for ways that you can customize this dip to make it your own and ideas for fun serving options!

  • Swap the Meat: The sausage adds great flavor, but ground beef, chicken, or pork all work! Season with taco seasoning and cook before adding. Cooked chicken breast or carne asada would also be super tasty.
  • Add More Spice: Add spicy Rotel, hot sausage, sautéed diced jalapeños, a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of your favorite hot sauce for an extra fiery kick.
  • Serve With: Cowboy queso dip is delicious served with a variety of dippers like tortilla chips, pretzel bites, toasted bread, or even vegetables like celery and bell peppers.

How to Store Leftover Queso

This delicious cowboy queso dip is easy to store and keeps for days. Here’s the best way to keep it fresher longer.

  • In the Refrigerator: Simply transfer any leftovers to an airtight container and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • To Reheat: Transfer to a microwave-safe container and microwave on medium heat for 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until warmed through. Or, for more even heating, transfer the dip to a small saucepan over low heat, stirring consistently, until it’s hot and bubbly.

Breakfast Egg Rolls

To prepare breakfast egg rolls, start with classic breakfast foods like eggs, sausage, and hash browns. Next, stuff them into egg roll wrappers and fry them to perfection. Not only do they enhance any brunch spread, but they are also hearty enough to serve as a standalone meal. They’re cheesy and tender on the inside, while crispy and crunchy on the outside.

I love how these offer a unique, special breakfast option that stands out from traditional egg rolls. Serve them at your next breakfast gathering, holiday brunch, or any occasion. They won’t last long!

Ingredients Needed

To make this breakfast egg roll recipe, start with simple ingredients, mainly standard breakfast items like eggs and sausage. First, grab some egg roll wrappers, then basic breakfast items, and you’re ready to go! Check out the recipe card at the bottom of the post for exact measurements.

  • Breakfast Sausage: Cooked and crumbled for added protein, flavor and heartiness.
  • Eggs: We’re scrambling 6 large eggs to fill the breakfast egg rolls.
  • Half and Half: Whisked with the eggs to make them super creamy and rich.
  • Salt and Pepper: To taste!
  • Butter: For scrambling the eggs.
  • Hash Browns: You don’t need to thaw your frozen potatoes; just cook them as-is! Try different shapes/sizes. Diced hashbrowns work great!
  • Cheese: For melty cheesiness throughout the egg rolls, we fill them with 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Wrappers: Egg roll wrappers will hold all of the ingredients together and become crispy and golden brown on the outside when fried!
  • Vegetable Oil: Used to fry the egg rolls, giving them a crunchy and golden exterior.

How to Make Breakfast Egg Rolls

If you’ve never made egg rolls before, don’t be intimidated, it’s actually so easy! Just follow the step-by-step instructions and take a look at the visual instructions below.

  1. Cook the Sausage: In a medium skillet, cook the breakfast sausage. Remove the cooked sausage from the skillet and set aside. Drain any fat.
  2. Cook the Eggs: In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, half and half, and salt and pepper. Heat the butter in the same skillet the sausage was cooked in and scramble the eggs.
  3. Cook the Hash Browns: Remove the eggs from the skillet and set aside. Cook the hash browns according to the package directions and set them aside.
  4. Prep Ingredients: Set up a workstation with all the bowls of ingredients ready alongside the wrappers and a small bowl of water to help seal the egg rolls shut.

Roll the Egg Rolls

  1. Fill the Wrapper: Start with one wrapper on the work surface with a corner facing you. Fill the bottom third of the wrapper with sausage, eggs, hash browns, and cheddar cheese.
  2. Roll the Wrapper: Roll the corner up over the filling, fold the sides in, and continue rolling the wrapper the rest of the way. Use a little water on the edge of the wrapper to seal your breakfast egg roll closed.
  3. Heat Oil: While the egg rolls are being filled, heat 2 inches of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  5. Let Rest and Serve: Remove the fried egg rolls from the oil and place them on a paper-towel lined plate. Let them rest for at least 5 minutes before enjoying them.

Tips and Variations

Here are my top tips for breakfast egg rolls that will make them turn out absolutely perfect every time you make them!

  • Change the Protein: You can add any of your favorite items to these breakfast egg rolls, you can replace the sausage with bacon or have it in addition to the sausage.
  • Add Veggies: Add your favorite veggies, including mushrooms, onions, or peppers.
  • To Air Fry the Egg Rolls: Once all the egg rolls are filled, lightly spray or brush them with oil and place them in an even layer in the air fryer with space between. Set the air fryer to 375 degrees and fry them for 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown.
  • Tip for Cooking the Eggs: When scrambling your eggs, keep in mind they will cook more once they are in the egg rolls. You want them to be slightly undercooked.
  • Hash Browns from Scratch: For the hash browns, I used frozen to make the process quicker, but you can make them from scratch.

These breakfast egg rolls keep well for several days if stored properly!

What’s in a Croissant Casserole?

Made from basic ingredients, many of which you probably already have in your kitchen, this croissant bake is so easy! See the recipe card below for a list of exact measurements.

  • Day-Old Croissant Pieces: These soak up the custard mixture to give each bite delicious flavor and the perfect tender texture.
  • Eggs: You’ll need 6 large eggs to hold all of the ingredients together, and ensure the casserole bakes properly.
  • Half and Half: Adds creamy richness.
  • Seasonings: A blend of garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper will bring out delicious flavor.
  • Ham: For convenience, I like to use cubed, cooked ham that’s ready to go!
  • Cheeses: A mix of shredded cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese makes this perfectly cheesy and irresistible.
  • Butter: For greasing the baking dish to keep everything from sticking and also to add richness to the dish.

How Do You Make Ham and Cheese Croissant Casserole?

This casserole comes together with just 10 minutes of prep! Then, pop it in the oven and let it get cheesy and golden brown. The whole family will be anxiously awaiting that first bite! Trust me, it’s worth the wait!

  1. Prep: Preheat an oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with softened butter. Be generous with the butter as it will add to the flavor of the casserole.
  2. Make the Egg Custard: Dice the croissants into about 1-inch pieces and set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, half and half, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper.
  3. Combine the Ingredients: To the bowl of eggs add the croissants, diced ham, and the cheddar and Swiss cheese. Stir to combine everything well.
  4. Bake: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Cover the casserole with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  5. Cool and Serve: Remove the casserole from the oven and allow it to cool at least 10 minutes before serving.

Tips and Variations

This ham and cheese croissant casserole is really versatile and straightforward to make! Here are some suggestions for add-ins and tips for making it perfect!

  • Use Day-Old Croissants: Just like when making French toast, we recommend using croissants that are 1-2 days old. Stale croissants will better absorb the egg mixture and the end result will have a better texture and taste.
  • How to Crisp Up Fresh Croissants: If you only have fresh croissants, cut them into cubes and place them on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes, watching them closely so they don’t burn. Allow the croissant pieces to cool completely before using in the recipe.
  • Add-ins: You can add any of your favorite breakfast staples to this casserole, cooked and chopped bacon, chopped bell peppers, sausage, or diced jalapeño for a spicy kick!
  • How Many Croissants: For the croissants the number you will use will vary depending on the size of the croissant. Once you’ve cut the croissants up place them into the pan you will be using to make sure it fills the pan well, they should mostly fill the pan on their own.
  • Cheese: If I have the extra time, I like to shred my cheese from the block so that it tastes more flavorful and melts into my casserole better.

Storing Ham and Cheese Croissant Casserole

You can totally make this ahead or store your leftovers so that you can enjoy them later! Follow these tips and you can have a ready to go breakfast or lunch option for days!

  • In the Refrigerator: Once the casserole has cooled, store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Reheating: You can reheat an individual serving by microwaving it for about 45 seconds or until it’s warm! Or, you can reheat the entire pan. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and cook it (covered with foil) for 10-15 minutes and until it is heated through.

Tips and Variations

I love changing up a dip if you need some extra ideas enhancing it or giving it a kick of heat. From making this to the slow cooker to adding in more toppings and flavors, I’m giving you all the tips!

  • Serving Ideas: Serve with Fritos, fresh cut veggies, on top of nachos, or slathered on tacos or burritos.
  • Cheese: Have fun with your cheese choice and add pepper jack or Colby jack shredded cheese to the dip mixture.
  • Add Protein: For a heartier dip, add cooked ground beef or shredded chicken to the bean dip mixture.
  • Add Heat: Like a little heat? Add jalapeños, red pepper flakes, or a dash of Cayenne pepper to make a spicy, but don’t make it too spicy for the kiddos.
  • Squeeze of Lime: Fresh lime juice is a great addition to refresh this dip.

Make Bean Dip in the Slow Cooker

You can make this in the slow cooker by adding everything together and cooking on low for 2 to 3 hours or until warm and your cheese is melted. Add extra cheese on top and serve.

  • In the Refrigerator: Once the bean dip cools completely then add to an airtight container. You can store it in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days.
  • To Reheat: Reheat leftovers in the microwave for 2 to 3 minutes or on the stovetop, stirring occasionally. Once it is warm you are ready to serve!
  • Make in Advance: If you want to make the bean dip ahead of time but can’t bake it, prepare it and put it in the pan you plan to bake it in. Tightly cover with plastic wrap then refrigerate until ready to bake. This will last about 2 days in the refrigerator.
